MILDRED SCHOOL OP DANCE STUDENTS GIVE FLOOR SHOWS Students of Mildred's .School of Dance were guest entertainers at the Third ward Primary Monday afternoon. They presented a diversified program of tap, ballet, and song and dance numbers. These students also presented a floor show at the M Men and Gleaner Girl banquet held in the Fourth ward Friday night. FIDELITY BRIDGE I CLUB ENTERTAINED Members of the Fidelity Bridge club were guests of Mrs. Rose Roy-lance Roy-lance at her home Thursday night at their regular bridge party. At one long table centered with yellow daffodils, ; luncheon was served early in the evening. Later bridge was played, with Mrs. Flora Maiben winning first prize, Marie Morgan, second, and Fay Cranmer, consolation. Members present. were Mrs. Fay Cranmer, Mrs. Marie Morgan, Mrs. Floss Cate, Mrs. Flora Maiben, Mrs. Delia Dallin,. Mrs. Mary Clegg, and Mrs. Ann Johnson was a special guest. FAIR JOVAILTY ENTERTAINED AT PROVO FRIDAY At the Edna Mae Hedquist home in Provo Friday night, members mem-bers of the Jovalty club were entertained en-tertained at a nicely arranged bridge party with Mrs. Merle Packard acting as hostess. Depicting a spring theme in general arrangements and favors, luncheon was served early in the evening at small tables following which bridge was played with Clara Childs, Maurine Haymond, 4nd Ann Stewart winning the prizes. Present were Luell Best, Ann Stewart, Mabel Simkins, Afton Palfreyman, Carrie Jolley, Louise Brown, Mary Bird, Clara Childs, Lucille Packard, Margaret Sum-sion, Sum-sion, the hostess, and Maurine Haymond was a special guest. W'OODROW WEIGHT HOST TO BOOK OF MORMON OLUB The regular Sunday night meeting meet-ing of the Book of Mormon club was held Sunday night after Sacrament Sac-rament meeting at the home of Clifford Pierce with Woodrow Weight acting as host. Pictures and the autobiography of Clifford Pierce were discussed by the group. The pictures were those that Mr. Pierce took over Europe while he was on a mission in Germany. In conclusion lunch was served ser-ved to members who attended. LEGION AUXILIARY TO MEET APRIL 10 Velma Mendenhall will be the speaker at the regular meeting of the Legion Auxiliary scheduled for Wednesday April 10 at 8 o'clock in the Memorial Hall, and she will talk on "Child Welfare." CLUB CELEBRATES TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY One of the most enjoyable parties par-ties of the season was the twentieth twen-tieth anniversary formal dinner party for members of the Social Twelve club held Monday night at the Valley Tavern. Dinner was served at one long table which was decorated with Sussnna Foster, dainty, 5-year-old Paramount singing' starlet, will be the central figure in "Golden Days of '40," opening production produc-tion of the 1040 Golden Gate International Exposition. Miss Foster Is spending much time on Treasure Island, rehearsing her role for the fast-moving revue, to.be staged opening days, May 25-20. up in Springville to assist the parents par-ents in preparing their children to enter school in a good physical condition. This fall the mothers of children child-ren who are registered at the various var-ious schools will receive appointments appoint-ments in the mail, and it is hoped that these will be kept. Mothers who have failed to register reg-ister their children for school this fall are urged to report to the principal of the school where the child will be enrolled. 1 Examinations will be given for children of the Grant school on Tuesday, April 9; Lincoln school, Tuesday, April 16; and the Jefferson, Jef-ferson, Thursday, April 18. Immunizations for smallpox and diptheria will be available for the unprotected child. A small fee of 25c for this is being asked to help cover cost of the vaccine. All ! children entering school should be protected. The school will not repeat the examination in the fall for those who fail to take advantage of this opportunity. JEUNE MERE OLUB ENTERTAINED AT MAPLETON Beth Jensen was hostess to members of the. Jeune Mere club Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Joseph Jensen in Mapleton. During Dur-ing the evening an interesting program was given consisting of readings, "The Bath House," and "Billle Jones' Mule," by Lois Big-trup, Big-trup, and Eva Hone and Little Miss Giles gave vocal solos. Ardis Giles also gave a reading. More than forty guests enjoyed the hilarity that followed in the way . of a diversified program of games. Charter members were presented present-ed beautiful corsages as favors. Later in the evening contract bridge was played, with first prize going to Mrs. Gwen Baxter, traveling tra-veling prize to Mrs. Em. Rowland, and draw prize to Mrs. Melba Pennington. The affair was a no-hostess Party, with Mrs. Floss Phillips in charge of general arrangements. EDNA OAKLEY HOSTESS TO PARA NAD A CLUB Carrying out a joint theme of spring and "April Fool", Edna Oakley was hostess to members of the Paranada club at a gay party at her home Monday night. A novel April Fool treasure hunt brought each guest a small package that proved to be a unique April Fool surprise. Following Fol-lowing the treasure hunt progressive pro-gressive "April Fool" was played with first prize going to Cleone Fox and the consolation to Fern Ostler. The major prize for the treasure' hunt was won by Lois Hales. Spring blossoms were arranged throughout the entertaining room, and yellow daffodils centered small tables at which luncheon was served early in the evening. A yellow and white color scheme was employed in table appointments. appoint-ments. DOROTHY LONG HONORED AT BIRTHDAY PARTY A birthday party was given in honor of Miss Dorothy Long at her home on Wednesday. A large white birthday cake covered cov-ered with colored candies and blue candles formed the centerpiece on the table from which a delicious luncheon was served to Gladys Weight, Max Hatch; Lillian Ostler, Robert Greaves; Dorothy Long, Vera Bartholomew, Floyd Smith, Enid Ewing, David Braithwaite, Betty Anderson, Tom Jarvis and Gerald Braithwaite. During the evening the group enjoyed gay social conversation while making ice cream. S HO AVERS HONOR MRS. HARVEY LERWELL In honor of Mrs. Harvey Ler-well, Ler-well, nee Vera Blackett, three showers have been held recently. FRIENDLY CIRCLE ENTERTAINED Mrs. Grace Richmond was hostess host-ess to members of the Friendly Circle at her home Thursday night. Following a luncheon served early in the evening at small tables centered with violets in keeping with the spring motif, Progressive Neighbor was played with prizes going to Wilda Oakley for club and to Mrs. Minnie Oakley for the guest prize. Consolation was won by Allean Lopez. Members present were Wilda Oakley, Allean Lopez, Georgia Perry, Per-ry, Vivian Averett, Lula Jones, Or-Lynn Or-Lynn Ash, and Donna Baker.
