Show Eddington-Peterson Wedding Reception Of Friday Highlights Holiday Social Week Taking precedence over the many Springvilie holiday Christmas Christ-mas parties this week was the beautifully arranged wedding reception re-ception in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Christian Peterson (Ros-lyn (Ros-lyn Eddington) at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Eddington, Friday evennig. The young couple were united in marriage in the Salt Lake temple tem-ple earlier in the day, with Apostle Apos-tle David 0. McKay performing the ceremony in the presence of the bride's father, also Neal Peterson Pe-terson and Oliver R. Smith of Provo, friends of the young couple. Approximately two hundred guests attended the formal reception recep-tion and extended best wishes and congratulations to the young con-pie. con-pie. The bride's gown and those of her attendants were fashioned to carry out the same color scheme as the home decorations which consisted of pa4ms and a profusion of American beauty roses and red carnations. A beautiful green velvet princess prin-cess model, trimmed with crystals, was worn by the bride, and she carried white gardenias and or-chids. or-chids. Her bridesmaids. Florence CLUB GUESTS ENJOY DINNER PARTY AT HAASE Members of Kappa Phi Lambda and their partners were entertained entertain-ed Saturday night at a party held at Haase cafe in Provo, according to the theme "Orchids in the Moonlight." Arrangements were carried out according to the club colors of lavender and silver in connection with the theme. Table decorations included silver orchids and lavender laven-der and silver tapers in silver holders. Mrs. Marjorie Miner, club president, pres-ident, was in charge of the arrangements ar-rangements for the party. HOME CULTURE CHRISTMAS PARTY HELD THURSDAY Mrs. Ruby Christensen was hostess hos-tess to members of he Home Cul-1 ture club at their annual Christmas Christ-mas party Thursday evening at her home. Entertainment for the evening included two Christmas stories by j Mrs. Blanche Beal, and a piano solo, "Forsaken," by Mrs. Maurice Mau-rice Bird. Gifts were exchanged and luncheon lunch-eon was served to the following members who were present: Mrs. ' Maurice Anderson, Mrs. Warren Beardall, Mrs. M. W. Bird, Mrs. Maurice Bird, Mrs. E. V. Boor-man, Boor-man, Mrs. Arthur Condie, Mrs. Harrison Conover, Mrs. H. M. Dougall, Mrs. W. R. Eddington, Mrs. C. E. Eggertsen, Mrs. Alma Miner, Mrs. G. B. Orton, Mrs. L. E. Ottesen, Mrs. E. F. Perham, Mrs. Howard Thorpe, Mrs. Ronald Thorpe, and the hostess. Christmas decorations, including includ-ing a beautiful Christmas tree, were employed, and Mrs. Beal was presented with a beautiful poinsettia in appreciation of her part on the program. , Stevens of El Paso, Texas, Inez Hunter of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Frances Hughes of Salt Lake City, and the flower girl, Jane Eddington Ed-dington of Lehi, were in white taffeta, with silver trimmings. They held red roses and white sweet peas. Dale Jones of Salt Lake was best man. Mrs. Vera Thompson of Los Angeles An-geles and Mrs. Rhea Eddington of Lehi, aunts of the bride, acted as hostesses. O. S. social unit girls of the B. Y. U., of which the bride is past president, took charge of the gifts and serving, and they also sang their "Sweetheart" song. A string trio from Provo played all evening. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson departed depart-ed for California after the wedding, wed-ding, where they will spend two weeks in San Francisco and Los Angeles. AD LIBITUM CLUB HAS GAY HOLIDAY PARTY A no-hostess Christmas party was held Monday evening for members of the Ad Libitum club at the home of Misses Margaret and Naomi Peirce. Appropriate holiday decorations included an artistic artificial fireplace fire-place centered with a model of Santa Claus and hung with Individually Indi-vidually filled stockings for each I guest. PARI PASSUE CLUB ENTERTAINED AT WEIGHTS Miss Naomi Weight was hostess to members of the Pari Passue club at her home Friday, with Mrs. Walter Clark of Provo acFing as assisting hostess. Mrs. G. M. Weight of Provo gave a Christmas story during the afternoon and gifts were exchanged. ex-changed. Luncheon according to the Christmas motif was served to approximately ap-proximately fifteen members. The mantle was decorated with a model mo-del of Santa Claus as a centerpiece center-piece and tiny stockings were given as favors. Plans were discussed for a husbands' hus-bands' party to be given December Decem-ber 28 at Haase cafe in Provo. FIDELITY BRIDGE CLUB HAS DELIGHTFUL PARTY Members of the Fdelity Bridge club were delighfully entertained Thursday evening in the form of a Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Olive Miller. Luncheon was served at one long table centered with a miniature minia-ture Christmas tree and with red tapers in crystal candelabra at either end. Later bridge was played, with prizes going to Rose Roylance, Floss Cate, and Mary Kelly. Present were Fay Cranmer, Mary Clegg, Floss Cates, Rose Roylance, Delia Dallin, Ann Johnson, John-son, Flora Maiben, Marie Morgan, and Florence Boyer, Mary Kelly, ad Bernlece Cranmer were special guests. |
