Walker Interesting nuptial news this week includes the names of the former Miss Catherine Duncan, charming charm-ing daughter of Mrs. Josephine Duncan of this city, whose marriage to James Owen Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Walker of Clearfield was an event of Monday, September 26. The young couple came from San Francisco, Calif., where Catherine Cath-erine has been employed during the summer and Mr. Walker in the navy, to take their wedding vows in the Salt Lake Temple. Witnessing Witness-ing the ceremony were mothers of the bride and groom, also Mrs. Eugene Davies, Mrs. Wm. T. Duncan Dun-can and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. M. Mower. The new Mrs. Walker is a former for-mer student of the Brigham Young University and was employed two years as a telephone operator before be-fore going to California. Mr. Walker has spent nearly five years in the navy and expects to be released in November. In the meantime, they will make their home in San Francisco leaving the latter part of the week. A number of parties have honored honor-ed the bride the past few days including in-cluding a shower last evening in the Third-Ninth ward to which a large group of relatives and friends attended, with the mother of the bride acting as hostess. A program emceed by Miss Edna Nielson entertained the guests and a nicely arranged lunch was served. serv-ed. The bride was the recipient of many lovely gifts. A shower for the bride was also given Saturday evening by Mrs. William T. Mower and Mrs. Eugene Eu-gene Davies with about 15 close friends and relatives attending. Another party in the form of a shower is planned by the mother of the groom this evening at Clearfield. |
