Show Tips on Touring By Carol Lane Women's Trove Authority Football Week End Want a wonderful little vacation vaca-tion and reunion in the fall 1 You can have one without taking any time from work or school. Here's how. Get in touch with those friends you've been wanting to see (but somehow never do) and plan a football week end. You don't have to be a super-loyal super-loyal alumnus or a cousin of the star halfback half-back to enjoy it. When you're part of a football foot-ball crowd you find any good game is a show worth seeing. You or yuur irienas reserve, rooms for headquarters at a hotel ho-tel or motel near the game. Then arrange to meet before the game perhaps for a picnic of cold chicken and biscuits, (I remember remem-ber how marvelous this tasty combination tasted at an Oklahoma-Arkansas game). Visit with your friends through the game, ihen for dinner and the evening. The next day, after a holiday away from home,, you can both start back. Plan it all for easy going. Pick a game you can get to with a reasonable drive; check a road map and note a couple of spots you've never seen. Then, going to the game and coming home the next day, get off the maia road long enough to see them. It's a comfortable combination leisurely travel, the excitement of the game, plus the pleasure of seeing old friends and some new sights besides. Best of all, it helps stretch your vacation fun beyond the usual summer season. |
