Show j, There are seven recognized National Na-tional forests in Utah described as follows: Ashley National Forest, which includes more than 1,075,-000 1,075,-000 acres in Utah, and embraces most of the eastern portion of the Uinta mountain range in northeastern north-eastern Utah and southwestern Wyoming. The eastern half of the high Uintas Primitive Area is within the borders of the forest. Cities on highway U.S. 40 that afford access to the forest are Vernal, Roosevelt and Duchesne. Cache National Forest embraces an area of about 702,000 acres in northern Utah and southeastern Idaho. Principal cities within the area are Logan, Brigham City and Ogden. Dixie National Forest constitutes con-stitutes a combination of the Powell and Dixie Forests, with an area of about 1,800,000 acres. It covers most of southwestern Utah and is approached on highways U.S. 89 and 91. Major cities within with-in the area are Cedar City,1 St. George and P.anguitch. |
