Show Camp Springville DUP Holds Meeting An interesting history and lesson featured the April meeting of the Springville Camp DUP when they met at the home of Mrs. Beth Berrett last Thursday afternoon. Assisting hostesses for the meeting meet-ing included, Mrs. Flora McKen-zie, McKen-zie, Mrs. Permelia Allan, Mrs. Retta Sumsion, Mrs. Jane Wagner and Mrs. Arvilla Robbins. Captain Lura Patrick presided at the meeting and presented the camp with a merit of award given her at the county DUP meeting. A tribute was paid by Mrs. Belle W. Childs to Louisa Morris White who helped to organize the first DUP camp here April 23, 1920. Sh ealso paid tribute to the first officers of the DUP camp most of whom have passed away. In an interesting manner, Mrs. Mary Reed reviewed the life of her aunt, Miss Alice Louise Reynolds, Reyn-olds, written by Amy Brown Lyman. Ly-man. Two instrumental selections on the saw were given by Frank Holley. Mrs. Ella Reynolds commented on the life of Miss Reynolds also and gave the lesson on, "The Cowboy, Cow-boy, Tony Ivins." The DUP group then sang, "Home On The Range." The hostesses served tasty refreshments re-freshments at the close of the meeting. - |
