Show Federated Clubs Plan for Annual Art Tea Saturday In spring a young man's fancy may lightly turn to love . . . while the thoughts and fancies of the young lady are likely to be, on a new spring bonnet. With .'this thought in mind. Mrs. G. Low- ry Anderson and her committee on decorations have selected the theme of "Spring Bonnets" for the annual Art Tea on Saturday. The tea will be held in the high school Art Gallery from 3 p.m., until 6 p.m. and invitations have gone out to all federated club women wo-men of the state and a number of special guests to attend. The response re-sponse from invitations indicates that one of the largest crowds will be in attendance. Presidents of the various federated federa-ted clubs of Springville will receive re-ceive the guests as follows: Mrs. Eugene Johnson, Ladies Literary club, who is general chairman of arrangements; Mrs. 'Erwin Sheffield, Shef-field, Alpha Beta Club; Mrs. Maurice Maur-ice Bird, Home Culture club; Mrs. A. W. Cherrington, Mother's Study club; Mrs. DelMoine Christensen. Cultural Arts club; Mrs. Leonard Zobell, Pari Passu club; Mrs. Jay Madsen, Jeune Mere club and Mrs. Ernest Holt, Aureole club. Also Mrs. Edward Clyde, wife of the Springville mayor; Mrs. J. Bracken Brack-en Lee, wife of the governor; Mrs. Harold Christensen, Springville, state vice-president and other district dis-trict and state club officials have been invited to assist with the reception re-ception of guests and to pour during dur-ing the afternoon. Mrs. Hugh Baxter, chairman of reception will also be assisted by members from each c-f the clubs in conducting the visitors through the art gallery and extending a welcome to them. Clyde, who will be assisted by throe or four members from each Springville club. Mrs. Frank Rigtrup, chairman of arrangements for tables, chairs, dishes and other items will be busy with other 'committee members mem-bers up to the last minute, while Mrs. George Pehrson and her com-mitte com-mitte on invitations have their job well done. Mrs. George Adams will be one of the busiest ladies the day of the tea with the responsibility of ,ser-ving ,ser-ving the many visitors being under her direction and those of her committee. com-mittee. The Art Tea has become a tradition tra-dition with federated clubs who sponsor the event as an incentive for women of the state to visit the high school art gallery and see the paintings on exhibit. It is one of the major events and one of the loveliest of social functions held during the art month. |
