Show Club Hears Paper; Elects Officers Members of the Ladies Literary Club met at the home of Mrs. W. H. Brown last Thursday evening even-ing to hear Mrs. G. Lowry Anderson Ander-son give a talk and demonstration demonstra-tion on floral -arrangement. The ladies were especially interested in-terested in seeing Mrs. Anderson arrange various kinds of flowers and fruits into formal and informal displays. She explained color combinations com-binations and design and gave much other valuable information on arranging flowers. Other program numbers included includ-ed two vocal solos, "Old Man River", and "Without A Song", by Billie Bird, accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Loyd Bird. It was election night and during dur-ing a business session, conducted by Mrs. Harold Christensen, club president, the following were elected: el-ected: Mrs. Glen W. Sumsion, president; Mrs. Eugene Johnson, vice-president; Mrs. E. T. Crandall, Cran-dall, secretary; Mrs. Ed Clyde, program Chairman. Mrs. Christensen announced that the club had been asked to name a queen candidate for the July 4th celebration and the name of Miss Dorothy Groesbeck, daughter of club members, Mrs. Bert Groesbeck, Groes-beck, was selected. Announcement was made of the UNESCO meeting in Salt Lake City and Mrs. Christensen was named as the club's official delegate dele-gate to attend the meeting, the first one of which is on April 22. Mrs. Anderson read a letter during dur-ing the evening from a lady in Holland with whom she has been corresponding as a club project to foster good will between countries. coun-tries. Mrs. F. C. Packard invited the club members to attend the state convention of Federated Music Clubs in Provo May 12 and 13. The annual Mother's Day program pro-gram was set for May 11. Preceding the meeting, luncheon lunch-eon was served by the hostess and Mrs. Ed Clyde read the club collect. col-lect. Eighteen club members were in attendance. |
