Thorpe, Chamber of Commerce highway committee chairman, who with Lt. Larson of the National Guard and a group of forest men and others inspected the roadway Saturday. For some time, the Chamber of Commerce has been urging that Hie Springville guard unit do work in nearby canyons instead of faraway far-away and these efforts are begin-ning begin-ning to pay off, Mr. Thorpe said. The guardsmen with their various var-ious pieces of equipment are widening wid-ening out places in the road and otherwise improving the grade over Hog's Back starting at the old Packard ranch. The guard sill work on the road during the weekends and later it is hoped to lave the road graveled, Mr. Thorpe stated. After the inspection of the right hand fork roadway, the party of men went over the Spanish Fork-Diamond' Fork-Diamond' Fork road pointing out places that should be smoothed out and others which should be widened. |
