black veiled worshipers on their way to early morning mass near the wharf we passed the custom house a lovely white building the most handsome one in the whole town at our eyes eves beheld for the first wide expanse of water and sky quite a change from the accous tomed mountain peaks and never ending piney woods vy we walked curiously around on the wharf letting our eyes feast on the sight before them of ships a forest of masts tugs tuga sail boats and fishing smacks there were wera a dozen or fithen merchant v abels anc ancho houd tl loading with lumber tobacco cotton or coa among trey
