Show Tony Express" Rides in Springville Friday Evening; All Asked to Donate V and Center St.; Second West and Second South; Second West, 4th South; Fourth North, Fourth East; Second North, Fourth East; 4th East, Second North; Fourth East and Center; Fourth Eeast, Second So., Fourth East and Fourth So.; Brookside and Fourth East and Eighth South. The riders will in turn take the money to the bank. All contributors will be given a receipt with which they may secure a copy of the book "Riders of the Pony Express," by presenting present-ing the receipt at the post office. The "Pony Express Rides Again" but this time it will be in Springville Spring-ville and in a more modern setting. The time is from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening, October Oc-tober 3, the hours being early so that citizens may attend meetings that evening. According to George Bird, chairman chair-man of the "Pony Express Monument" Monu-ment" committee of Springville, this city has been asked along with other Utah communities to contribute the equivalent of $1 per person, or a total of $1843 from Springville,. with which to place a Pony Express monument in Salt Lake City and another in Washington, D. C. The monuments are the work of the sculptor Avard Fairbanks, whose "Mother and Child" monument was purchased i by Springville recently for $3000 and reposes in the high school Art Gallery. Total cost of the Pony Express monuments is $150,000. Mr. Bird said that the Boy Scouts would distribute an envelope en-velope to each home in Springville and the contributions would be gathered up by the members of the ladies clubs and organizations between the specified time. The ladies will take the contributions contri-butions to members of the Snrine- ville Riding Club who will be wait-i wait-i ing at various stations, namely: 1 2nd West Fourth North; Second I West, Second North; Second West, |
