there was a long wait between acts when men finally myron newell placed in nomination B R R irvine as councilman the nomination was seconded by mr snow M 0 newell was placed before tho the primary by D A swan W al mckendrick placed the name of R maeser before the loyal democrats mr newell nominated jerry duff cluff the chair appointed jesse smith and mrs swan as tellers the result of the first vote was newell 17 maeser 9 snow 7 oluff cluff 7 no candidate having received a majority of all the votes the second ballot was called for the second stood as follows newell 20 maeser 13 snow 3 cluff
