Show Farm Families Have Decreased . Farmers and farm families now constitute only 18 per cent of our nation's population according to the latest census estimate. By comparison, com-parison, in 1930. 24.5 per cent of people in the United States lived on farms. Increased productivity of farm labor has doubled the farm output for human use in the last 40 years. One farmer now produces enough food and fiber for himself and five of his city cousins compared com-pared with 1935 when he produced enough for himself and four city cousins. |
