Show V L I Local Alpha Beta club members were guests at the annual club breakfast break-fast at the home of Mrs. M. R. Straw, Friday. A delicious breakfast break-fast was served at small tables beautifully trimmed with Easter flowers and decorations. Cards featured the afternoon's entertainment. entertain-ment. Mrs. Charles Boyer won high score prize for bridge, and Mrs. G. W. Mendenhall for 500. One guest was present, Mrs. D. P. Brinton of San Francisco, Cal. Hostesses were President Mrs. F. W. Hoffman, Mrs. W. W. Clyde, Mrs. M. R. Straw, Mrs. W. W. Brockbank. Following a conference of a number of citizens in Plat "A" district with city councilmen concerning con-cerning a change in the irrigation schedule, of that district, it was decided at a meeting of citizens and water officials to have a survey sur-vey made of the district to determine deter-mine the time required to carry the water over the district allowing al-lowing two hours to the acre. The survey will be made by Supervisor Super-visor Alma Fullmer of the waterworks water-works department and a report submitted to city councilmen in charge of water regulations. School teachers of this district will receive contracts for next year on or shortly after April 20. .it was announced early this week. A new wage schedule will be carried car-ried out throughout the district this year based on certification and years of experience. Schools .of the district will close May 22 Work is going on at the city gravel pit for the making of a seal coat to be applied on the oiled roads which are expected to be completed as soon as dry warm weather will permit. PROVO Hazel Anderson, of Springville, has been cast in the role of Mrs. Gordon, defendant, in the coming play, "Ladies of the Jury," to be presented in College hall at Brigham Young university April 30 and May 1, according to Professor T. Earl Pardoe, head of the speech department. Miss Anderson is a senior at Brigham Young university. She has been president of White Key, national honorary service organization, organ-ization, and took a part in the student competitive play of last year, "Peer Gynt," by H. Ibsen. She is a member of the B. Y. U. Symphony orchestra and concert band, and a member of the Val Norn social unit. |
