Spring-ville. Mr. Metcalf was born March 19, 1859, in the old Springville fort, a son of Levi Gregory and t. Melessa Jane Guymon Metcalf, g. early pioneers. ,j. Mrs. Margaret Llewellyn Met- , f calf was born September 16, 3 800, in Fountain Green, a daugh- ter of Reea and Ann Luelen jrr Llewellyn, handcart pioneers, n- among the first to settle in San-il San-il pete county. ,1 For many years after their ' marriage, the couple made their nome in Springville and Maple- r ton, takin an active part in L. D. S. church and civic affairs of these communities. In 1912, they a, moved to Richfield, Idaho, where Mr. Metcalf operated a large rancli. They returned to Spring- ville to make their home in 1937. They are parents of nine children, chil-dren, seven of whom are living: Mrs. May Houtz of Redland, Calif; Frank Metcalf of Springville; Spring-ville; Mrs. Lou Palfreyman of Provo; Mrs. Hazel Robertson of I Honolulu, T. H; L. G. Metcalf of I Modesto, Calif; Burton and Earl j Metcalf of Richfield, Ida. They f also have 41 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. |
