Show What's Doing In Kiwanis BY WELCH RAREBIT Kiwanians and friends spent a most pleasant and profitable evening eve-ning last Thursday when Mr. Stanley J. Stephenson, secretary of the Utah Manufacturers' Association, As-sociation, addressed the club on "Building Utah." Said he, "The number of men employed in Utah has remained about the same over the past ten year period, and so has production in industry. One thing which has steadily increased, increas-ed, however, is taxation, which is becoming a. detriment to manufacturers, manu-facturers, raising their costs until they cannot compete with outsiders. out-siders. It is planned to meet at the regular time and place, and after satisfying the inner man, retire to the art gallery where we will find out what and why a picture is good, not only for our own edification, but also that we may be able to tell our visitors next week something of what we reallv have here. So come, get on the job and be prepared so that the Springville club's biggest big-gest meeting of the year will be an assured success next Thursday night. oOo It is with a great deal of pleasure pleas-ure that wc welcome as new members mem-bers into the club, Carl Nelson and John Bearnson. and as former for-mer members returning to the fold, J. O. Reynolds and Selvoy Boyer. Last month wc were pleased pleas-ed to have Ed Clyde join us. With these additions, we have nearly reached our maximum number of members, but there is still room for two or three right good men. who's next? oOo Next Monday, April 18, w'll lie the regular monthly meeting of , the officers and directors at the Springville bank at 5:15 p. in.
