Show ONION DAYS TO i DRAW CROWDS TO PAYSON PAYSON-In a true holiday mirit Payson wishes again to extend a welcome to all residents of Springville and vicinity, to accept ac-cept her hospitality and join in Ihc festivities of the ninth annual Gold Onion Days and Homecoming Homecom-ing celebration beginning next .MondayAugust 31 and cont.nu-w cont.nu-w for three days. The fine reputation repu-tation of past years wiU be sustained sus-tained in the mammoth parade at 10 a tn.-on Monday . end Tues-, dav being arranged by Louis A. Bates and a corps of helpers. Scores of beautiful floats features and bands will make this an outstanding out-standing parade of the year. A two hour parade of bands from all parts of southern Utah will be featured Wednesday at 10 a. m. on Main street. The race program each afternoon after-noon at the Done Sports field will provide a real thrill with more than 70 thoroughbreds from the intermountain states entered (or the sport of kings. High class vaudeville acts will be presented pre-sented between races. Bands and orchestras will provide plenty of music. With a keynote of friendliness and good-will back of this annual event, new features are added each year and for two nights, Sept. 1 and 2, spectacular vaudeville vaude-ville will be introduced this year at the Sports Field. The annual Homecoming program will be given giv-en Monday night in the Nebo stake tabernacle and a public re- ccption for adults with refreshments refresh-ments is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in the Junior high school auditorium. The D. H. Christensen student reunion will he at the same time in the Little theater. A big carnival at the park, hand concerts, dances, shows and reunions will make the' event a three-days riot of fun and entertainment. |
