Show Women Found Vain In Ancient Times SAUVILLE, France (U.E) Vanity Van-ity cases and eyebrow pluckers were used by Merovingian women of 700 A.D., M. L. Vilminot, school teacher of Sauville in the Vosges region, has discovered through excavation. ex-cavation. Vilminot practices archaeology as a habby and has found so many things of real significance in digging dig-ging up the ruins of the Frankish town buried in the fields near Sauville that he has gathered them into a Merovingian museum which attracts visitors from far and near. Dating from 500 to 700 A. D., the excavated town shows no signs of having been Christianized. Many pagan relics have been found and coins bear the image of Theodoric, King of Ostrogoths. Most of the articles which Vilminot Vil-minot has discovered are in a remarkable re-markable state of preservation despite the centuries during which they have been buried. This the archaeologist attributes to a reddish red-dish material with which the articles arti-cles were covered, indicating that the Franks had discovered an anti-rust anti-rust substance. |
