Show Mapleton News BY FERN JENSEN .A "welcome home" social in honor of Mr. and Mrs. William Tew of Louisville, Kentucky, will be held Friday evening in the schoolhouse. All the ward members mem-bers are invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Tew have been attending the L. D. S. conference in Salt Lake City. They will spend a few days here before returning to their home. oOo Misses June and Beulah Whiting Whit-ing entertained at an "April Fool" party at their home Friday evening. eve-ning. Social chat was the main feature of the evening. A potluck luncheon was served to the following fol-lowing friends: Miss Cleo Whiting, Miss Irene Bird, Miss Vena March-banks, March-banks, Miss Berniece Harmer, Miss Fern Jensen, Miss Beulah and Miss June 'Whiting. oOo Mr. and Mrs Lee Erickson and family of Salt' Lake City, were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Hopla. They spent the afternoon enjoying the art at the Springville Art galtery. oOo After a bicycling party Saturday Satur-day afternoon, the following friends returned to the home of Miss Elaine Whiting for a dainty luncheon: Miss Maurine Childs, and Miss Jane ' Wainwright of Springville; Miss Jean- Wilkins, Miss Wanda Holley, and Miss Elaine Whiting. oOo Mrs. Emma Plumlee has returned re-turned to her home in Salt Lake City, after spending a week with A group of friends met at the her son, Lee Plumlee. oOo A group of friends met at the home of Miss Mary Perry in the form of a surprise party Friday evening. The party was cleverly carried out in April Fool style. Games were played, after which a luncheon was served to fifteen friends. oOo A few friends met at the home of Miss Ruth Jensen While she was convalescing from a recent operation and spent the evening making candy. Those who attended at-tended were Miss Evelyn Mack-ley, Mack-ley, Miss Lenore Hopla, Miss Edda Johnson, Miss Nancy Sorenson, Miss Bee Mendenhall and Miss Thclma Perry. oOo Approximately sixty members of the Mapleton ward have been attending the L. D. S. conference held in Salt Lake City. Nine of those present were members of the Mapleton Relief Society chorus chor-us who sari" with the "Singing Mothers," while they were there. |
