Show : 1 y What's Doing In Kiwanis x-, Dr. R. C. Petty will be toast-master toast-master at the weekly Kiwanis meet Thursday night and he has engaged as the principal speaker of the evening, A Thurman, superintend.! sup-erintend.! of Salt Lake City schools, who will talk on the possibilities in under-privileged child welfare work. Other fine program numbers are also being arranged. The club meeting last week featured a talk by P. P. Thomas of Spanish Fork who told in interesting in-teresting manner of his recent trip to Alaska. Miss Helen Pal-freyman Pal-freyman entertained with vocal solos. W. w. Brockbank was toastmaster. Among the club reports was that of Harrison Conover and Milt Harrison on a recent successful fishing trip to Donkey lake near Boulder mountain which according accord-ing to their story was "virgin territory never before visited by white men." Delegates to the Utah-Idaho district convention to be held in Ogden, August 27, 28, 29 were named to include President M. W. Bird and J. P. Wingate, acting secretary. G. Lowry Anderson and Harold Christensen were selected as delegates. The attendance prize for the evening also went to Harold Christensen. There will be no regular club meeting next Thursday evening but local members and their partners part-ners will join with Park City at an annual good will outing at the Hot Pots on Saturday night. |
