Show MARY LEWIS SERVICES HELD Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Frances Tyler Lewis, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Stanley Hindmarsh, Saturday, were conducted in the Second ward chapel here, Monday after- I noon. Bishop Earl Sumsion was in charge. The speakers were President T. N. Taylor, Professor W. H. Boyle and Bishop A. E. Eves of the Provo Third ward. Music was given by Mrs. Jessie Dalton and Mrs. May Groesbeck who rendered two vocal duets, accompanied by Mrs. Belle Thomas. Thom-as. Mrs. Ethel Lewis of Provo, gave a vocal solo, accompanied by Mrs. Reva Bullock at the piano. Prayers were by John Boyer and Charles Alleman. Interment was at Kanab. Born in Evergreen, Washington county, Texas, June 25, 18(50, Mrs. Lewis came to Utah with her parents in 1870. The family located lo-cated in Parowan, where she spent her early life. She was married to William Staines Lewis in the St. George temple, January 25, 1877. They lived in Kanab until Mr. Lewis' death in 1900, when Mrs. Lewis came to Provo. She had been with her daughter in Springville for the past two years. Surviving are a son and three daughters, Molvin H. Lewis, Og-den; Og-den; Mrs. Mary L. Shelton and Mrs. Lou Pharo, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Hindmarsh, Springville; 19 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; grand-children; five brothers and sisters. |
