Frank Bringhurst has been elected president of the Epsilon Upsilon chapter of Sigma Nu, national sorority fraternity, at the Utah State Agricultural college, according to report received here. A son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bringhurst of this city, he plans to graduate from the school of forestry at the U. S. A. C, next spring. W. W. Clyde and company of this city, recently received a contract con-tract to lay road-mix oil surface on the Lehi-Saratoga road. The bid, lowest of thirteen, was $33,-141. $33,-141. Work is to be completed in 90 days. . Miss Verla Berrill of the B.Y. U. art department, who has con-ducted" con-ducted" a "-course " in art at ' -the meetings of the Hafen-Dallin club, will talk on the pictures in the Springville exhibit Thursday afternoon, af-ternoon, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Those who desire to attend are cordially invited. Mrs. Robert LeVitre, 631 East Second South of Provo, formerly Lola Strong of this city, has been awarded a Westinghouse electric range, valued to $150, as the winner win-ner of the current week's range essay contest. Mrs. LeVitre's essay was entitled, en-titled, "Why I Would Like An Electric Range." The contest closed April 23, and was sponsored by the dealers and the Utah Power and Light company. PROVO Howard McKenzie of Springville, student at Brigham Young university, was recently elected president of Alpha Kappa Psi, national honorary commercial fraternity, for the remainder of this year after the resignation of Chester May. Howard is very active ac-tive in student affairs and is a member of the Tausig social unit. Professor Guy C. Wilsen of the Brigham Young university, Provo, will be the principal speaker at the Second Ward M. I: A. conjoint meeting, at 7 p. m., Sunday in the ward chapel. Thg program will also feature two fine musical numbers from the B.Y.U. All ward members and friends are invited. The concluding event on the First ward budget this season will be a dance in the ward amusement amuse-ment hall Friday evening. All ward members are urged to be present. Due to conflicts in programs, the Mother's Day entertainment, to be given by the American Legion Le-gion auxiliary, has been flanged from 7 p. m., Monday, May 2, to 4 o'clock in .the afternoon. A luncheon will be served at 4 p.m., followed by an interesting program. pro-gram. All auxiliary members are asked to bring their mothe'rs or an elderly guest. Members of the Crandall family fami-ly are sponsoring an excursion to the Salt Lake temple Wednesday, Wednes-day, May 4. The 5 o'clock session wiil be the most important one.
