An interesting item from the Agriculture College News, the past week is the nomination of Howard Law, son or Mr. and Mrs. Mark Law of this city, for the office of student body president of the college col-lege for 1933-34. Three other nominations nom-inations were made and the final election will take place next Thursday. Thurs-day. Howard was an outstanding athlete at the local high school and has continued his activities along this line in college. Mrs. Darley C. Moss of St. ' George visited the past week with ' her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. ' Alfred Curtis in this city. Provo and Mrs. Milan rt. oliuw. Ballif of Provo, past legion auxiliary department president, gave an interesting and educational talk on child welfare and education of world war veterans, vet-erans, emphasizing in particular the responsibility of the legion and auxiliary in the care of world war dependents, at a conjoint meeting of the organizations Wednesday evening. President Esther Johnson John-son was in charge. Elmo Coffman, accompanied by Mrs. Julia Sumsion Sum-sion furnished vocal selections during dur-ing the evening; Miss Marian Smart gave a reading accompanied at the piano by Miss Phylis Smart, and Hosmer Tucker entertained with vocal and instrumental music. Mrs. Carrie Tripp and Mrs. G. W. Friel were appointed chairmen of the Mothers' day social to be held next month. Mrs. Johnson announced announc-ed that the poppy sales would be conducted heie next month, and also that the auxiliary would contribute con-tribute to the milk fund for the benefit of undernourished children.
