Show SOCIETY NEVS The offcers and teachers of the First ward Sunday school delightfully delight-fully surprised Superintendent Victor Vic-tor Phillips at his home Friday evening. About thirty officers and their partners attended including 1 Mr. and Mrs. Frynk Sanford, Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Vnurpe, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kdix, Mr. and Mrs. , Harlan Boyer, Mr., and Mrs. Ed. Avcrett, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Childs, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Felix, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Averett Billings, Mr. and Mrs. Burrows, M. A. Boyer. Wilford Manuwaring, Earl Smith, Jane Nielson, Percilla Nielson, Dorothy Bcardall, Mae Billings, Margaret Hadey, and Hilda Clegg. The evening was spent with games followed fol-lowed by a program. v Mrs. Chester Johnson of Richfield, Rich-field, Idaho spent several days of the past week with relatives and friends in Springville. Mrs. Harold Johnson and son Dick 'nave returned to their home in Cedar City after a weeks visit with relatives here and in Provo. Mrs. J. C. Nielson gave a birthday birth-day party at her home Friday afternoon for her little son Orin who is six years old. The following follow-ing friends and relatives attended: Alton and Ora Nielson. Mapleton, Donald Rasmussen. Provo, Corine Thorn, Paysrn, Neil Whiting. Max and Cleon Nielson, Philis Palfreyman, Palfrey-man, Jay Reed Bird, Wilna Brown, Blaine Hoyle. Rhea and Earl Nielson. Niel-son. Jimmie Bartlett, Maurine, Bob and Jack Martin, Frank Salisbury, I Mildred Ogden, and Martin Reed. Games and an Easter luncheon were enjoyed by all. Mrs. Florence Shoults and son of Arco, Idano have returned to 1 their home after several weeks visit with her parents Mr. and Mrs. James Rothwell in this city. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Fisher of Pocatello, Idaho spent the week end in Springville wit'n Mrs. Fisher's Fish-er's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Child. In their honor Mr. and Mrs. Child entertained at dinner Sunday Sun-day with T. K. Child Sr. also as a special Rtiriit. Members of the Thursday evening. even-ing. Bridge club and friends were pleasantly entertained at t'he home of Mis. F. W. Hoffman on Thursday Thurs-day evening. Club prizes for the games were awarded to Miss Marie Ward and Mrs. Jack Perharo, and the guest prize to Mrs. Charles Boyer. Others present included Mrs. E. V. Bonman, Mrs. Ivan Child, Mrs. A. O. Packard, Mrs. H. McDougall, Mrs. F. C. Packard, Mrs. Wm. Gogerty, Mrs. J. F. Win-gate, Win-gate, Mrs. Jack Wilcox and Mrs. R.ay Gr.azier. An 8 o'clock dinner, served by the hostess, prececded the games. Miss Cleo Pierce has returned to Ogden after spending a weeks spring spr-ing vocation with rner parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Pierce and friends here. Mrs. Mildred Jarvis of St. John Arizona, formerly of this city spent several days of the past week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John S. Boyer and other relatives rela-tives in Springville. Mr. and Mrs. G. Dewey Clyde and children of Logan, spent Saturday Sat-urday and Sunday with their parents par-ents Mrs. Nora J. Clyde. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Packard, and ot'herTela-tives ot'herTela-tives and friends. Mrs. G. D. Kennedy entertained at dinner Saturday evening in honor of Miss Cleo Pierce. Mrs. A. O, Thorn of Benjamin and Don-loe Don-loe Kennedy of Salt Lake, were other out-of-town guests. |
