Francis M. Hallard, one ot Payson's best-known residents, died unexpectedly at his home yesterday evening. On Sunday Sun-day Jan. 23 he attended the funeral fun-eral of Mrs. Vina Patten. On his return from the cemetery ns he alighted from a ear on F'irst North street a passing motorist struck him knocking him to the ground. The driver went on without ascertaining ascertain-ing if his victim had been injured. Mr. Ballard was taken to the Pay-general Pay-general hospital, where a large cut on the head was discovered but no other apparent injury. . His condition was at no time thought at all serious until immediately immedi-ately before his death which was from a heart affliction caused by shock from the accident. Mr. Ballard was born ia Payson on Jan. 17. 3850. He lived his entire life here with the exeption of one year when his parents were called on a mission to Arizona. Ho was married at- the age of eighteen to Lucindn Winward. For twelve years he was the city marshal in Payson and he also served one term |
