Show 900,000 TONS SUGAR BEET CROP IN 1925 NEW YORK, March 12 The production pro-duction of beet sugar in the United States during the campuign which ended In February, was 17. 900,880 bags or 899,844 tons, according to the annual report compiled by Facts About Sugar, the trade authority on sugar. This Is 190,000 tons less than the crop of tbe previous season but is above the average for the past ten years. Production by sfites was as follows, fol-lows, in bags of 100 pounds each : Colorado 4.220,737 Utah 2,700,738 Nebraska 2,203,775 Michigan 2.170,02!) S tons per acre against an average of 11.4 tons for the whole country. California had the highest yield of pucnr per ton of beets, averaging 357 pounds, as compared with 207 pounds in the couutry ut lurgu. The, best all around showing was made by Utah which produced over two tuns f sugar per acre of beds harvested, the best record ever made by misstate. |
