Show HARRIS TO AID RURAL MEET l The American Country Life association asso-ciation with offices in New York City, has solicited the co-operation of Prest. Franklin S. Harris, of the, Brigham Young university, in formulating for-mulating their program for 1924 on account of his understanding of the "Mormon" method of solving country coun-try life problems. The subject selected for the 1924 convention, according to a letter to Dr. Harris from Executive Secretary Secre-tary Henry Israel, is, "The Farmer and Religion." The letter was in part as follows: "Since thche is no modern demonstration on the topic agreed upon, more significant than that which the "Mormon" church has made in America causing literally liter-ally and practically 'the desert to blossom like a rose' I wish we might have from you your best thought as to what the objectives ought to be in order to make this conference of ours a real contribution contribu-tion to rural progress. "We should also be very glad to have you mention some outstanding personality of your church who could bring to our conference the underlying philosophy and the interrelation in-terrelation of economics and religion as you have so significantly demonstrated." demon-strated." , "This iuvitation." President Harris Har-ris said in discussing the letter, "is one that pleases me very much on account of the broad scope of the work lone hy this association.
