Show SPRINGVILLE'S COUNCILMEETS Ask Provo-Springville Holding Hold-ing Company to Favor Drainage. The Springville city council met in an adjourned session Saturday evening February 23 and passed an ordinance changing the time of the regular city council meetings from the first and- third Mondays in the mouth to the first and third Tues-days.in Tues-days.in the month. The agreement was accepted and filed appointing Blain J. Kelsey of Springville. water commissioner for the year 1924. His duties are the distributing of all waters of Hobble Creek canyon, Maple canyon and irrigation waters in the Springville and Mapletor laterals of the Strawberry Straw-berry reservoir irrigation system. Joseph Jensen of Mapleton signed the agreement for the Mapleton Irrigation Ir-rigation district and the Mapleton Irrigation company. D. P. Brinton for the Springville Irrigation district dis-trict and A. W. llarmer for the city of Springville. A resolution was passed by the council requesting the Columbia Steel corporation to authorize the Provo-Springville Holding company to sign the petition in favur of forming form-ing the proposed drainage district near the Utah lake project, which affects the lands of the Springville city pasture now deeded in trust to the said holding company to be used by the steel corporation. A motion passed authorizing the city engineer, W. W. Clyde to make a city map of Springville and the mayor and recorder were authorized to sign the contract with the engineer engi-neer in behalf of the city. A petition presented by the Pell Telephone Co., to move the pole line one block east of Main was granted. C. II .Clark, city marshal and Lewis Cutler, night watchman were appointed bail commissioners by Mayor May cock anil the council confirmed con-firmed the appointments. |
