Ott rioiui-.ey. the new i "V staumm, and practically the entire Cougar football team will be seen in action by central Utah football fans for the first time Saturday Sat-urday afternoon at 2 p. m., when the College of Idaho, champions of the Northwest conference, come to Provo. , Coach Romney has given the Cougar squad such a shaking up that Owen Rowe, backfield star, and Captain Henry Simmons, tackle, are the only two veterans who will play their old positions. The others have either been shifted to new positions or else will adorn the bench Saturday while men up from the Frosh squad gambol on fhe green with the Idaho Covotes. Paul "Red" Thorne, a freshman star of a few years ago, will be a halfback where Coach Romney expects ex-pects him to thrill the crowd with Ills line smashing and running, Pdssmg and kicking. Romney says j the youth from Springville is the answer to a coach's prayer. Be- i sides Rowe and Thorne, Larry Pet- j erson and Clr.rence vi'jher will play in the bark field. Peterson vvill play fullback and will call signals. sig-nals. Dixon and C. Skousen have been shifted from the backfield to the two wing positions, where they are bcth doing good work. Kari Bunnell Bun-nell has been shifted to tackle; Ba-i Ba-i sil Skousen has been brought un from fullback to guard; Young West of Pleasant Grove has been given a berth at guard; and Ronald J. Dyches, formerly of Eureka high, will play center. Magleby, Ballif and Hoover are I all likely to be seen in the back j field sometime during the game. I The game will be called at 2 o'clock. I |
