Mr. and Mrs. Ed Johnson and children and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Phillips and children motored to Provo canyon Sunday, where they had lunch, and then went on from there to Eureka and other mining towns in the Tintic district. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Bird, of Los Angeles, spent a few days this week with Mrs. A. C. Bird, before going to Albion, Idaho, where Mrs. Bird is to appear in concert. They will return to Springville to visit for several weeks with relatives before be-fore leaving for Los Angeles. Mrs. W. II. Harrison, Mrs. Jack Fletcher and Mrs. L. J. Whitney spent the week-end in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. ,T. (). Reynolds and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Larseu, the latter lat-ter of Provo, went to Eureka Sunday Sun-day to visit Mr. and Mrs. J. Y. Bearnson. w Mrs. Heber Cotlam and little daughter, Venice, and Miss Rose Ashby, of Provo, were the guests of Mrs. Joseph Allen last. Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Guy W. Mendenhall announce the engagement of their daughter, Odessa, to Arvil Chillis, the wedding to take place this month. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wonnacott and Miss Bessie Wonnacott. spent a few-days few-days this week in Salt Lake. The" Gleaner Girls of the Second ward met Tuesday nt tbe home of Miss Inez Jessee. There were twenty present. The girls took bundles containing old-fashioned costumes and during the evening these were exchanged and each girl put on the costume she had drawn. Miss Lucy Childs and Miss Margaret Mar-garet Warthcn entertained for Miss Odessa Mendenhail Monday evening at the home of Miss Childs. There were eighteen guests present. The Junior girls of the Second ward enjoyed a swim at Glengarry Tuesday evening, followed by lunch at the home of Miss Mary Waiu-w-rigbt. Mrs. Joseph Grant is spending a few days in Helper. Mrs. Ray Hansen visited in Salt Lake this week. ' Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wilson and children of Salt Lake, have been the guests this week of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Cranda!!. Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Thorn spent the week-end in Salt Lake. Miss Dora Coffman came from Ogdcn, where she is teaching in tiie summer school, to spend Saturday and Sunday with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Whittaker and daughter, Virginia, went to Eureka Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Done and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cou-yers. Cou-yers. Mr. and Mrs. L. .). Whitney and children and Mr. Mack Whitney motored to Bingham Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Deal, Miss , Katherine Southworth and Mrs. Mark Tripp motored to Eureka Sun-i Sun-i day to see the ball game. He has just completed a four-year course in dentistry in a San Francisco college and will re turn to that city to practice. Mrs. C. L.
