Huntington, Hunt-ington, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Oakley and family, Mrs. Fannie Oakley. Mrs. Emma Long and daughter of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. LaMaun Oakley of Calicnte, Nev., and Mr. and Mrs. Si N. Daniels and family of Salt Lake. A well arranged bridge-luncheon was given Thursday evening by Mrs. Mary M. Oakley, assisted by her sister, Miss Aiieen Mendenhall. at their home. A pretty basket of autumn flowers in the center, with tall tapers at either end formed attractive at-tractive decorations for the long table at which luncheon was served early in the evening. Three tables of bridge were arranged durinc" which game, Mrs. F. J. Mendenhal'i, Mrs. Charles Boyer and Mrs. Pearl Nye, of Washington, D. C, were awarded prizes. Other guests in- j eluded: Mrs. 'S. Thorn and family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thorn of Provo, j Miss Josephine San ford and the hostess. j Mrs. Nora Clyde of this city announces an-nounces the marriage of her daugh- 1 ter Clara to Ralph Christensen of Provo. The mariiage took place August 14 at Reno, Nevada. Mrs. Christensen is a graduate of the ' B. Y. U. and is teaching in the Springville high school this year. Mr. Christensen is also a B. Y. LT. 1 graduate and is attending school , in California. I I i A farewell party will be given i Friday evening in the Second ward j for J. H. Wo rd s wo r t h , who will leave next week to fill an L. D. S. mission in the northwestern states. Members of the Social Twnlve Card club will be entertained thir, evening at the home of Mrs. Harry Pennington. All members are sak-ed sak-ed to be present. The members of the Mothers' Study club will entertain Saturday, Satur-day, October 27, at 3:00 o'clock, at the regular guest day social to be given in the Third ward amusement amuse-ment hall. Ladies of the Home Culture and .Alpha Beta club will be special guests, also all ladies who have belonged to the Mothers Saudy club will' be given a special invitation to be present. Mrs. Christian Jensen of Provo will give a talk on the life and works of some English and Scotch poets whose places .she visited during her recent European trip. In connection connec-tion with her talk a musical program pro-gram is arranged for the occasion. The officers and teachers of the second ward primary will give j their annual entertainment in the j form of a Hallowe'en dance in the i second ward amusement hall Sat-j urday afternoon, beginning: at two o'clock for the young folks, and at eight, for the oh? or bnys and : girls.. The parents are given 'a, special invitation to be present free of charge. I A prize will be awarded to the boy and girl wearing the best costume. cos-tume. Weight's orchestra will furnish fur-nish music. The hall will be decorated in Hallowe'en colors. Several booths will also be arranged where ice cream soda, pop corn, etc.. will be Sold by the different classes. In honor of Mrs. Clara M. Bate, whose birthday ann ivnrparv occurred occur-red Tuesday, a delightful birthday dinner party was given Sunday by her children. An attractive color scheme suggestive of Hallowe'en was used throughout the entertaining entertain-ing rooms. A large birthday cake formed an attractive centerpiece for the long dining table, around which covers were laid for the following fol-lowing children and other relatives rela-tives of the honor guest: Mr. and-Mrs. and-Mrs. Harry Piper of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. S. Ferguson, Mrs. J. M. Bate and two daughters Fern and Bernice, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pennington of tin's city. Mr. and j Mrs. Charles Fenstermaker and I daughters Gladys and Mrs. Lena ; Jarkman. and Mrs. S. K. Seiburt of Salt Lake. The dance givn by the Third ward Primary officers and teachers Saturday was a successful affair. A la rue crowd of boys and girls attended. The members of the Home Cul-turf5 Cul-turf5 club will entertain at a party Fridnv evening, in compliment to their Ni.hnr.ds at the home of Mr. and !v7rs. C. R. Jones.
