Wingate, Reporter Phone 191 Miss Jennie Erickson entertained entertain-ed at her home last Friday evening eve-ning for the members of the Las Amega and Five-Hundred card clubs. Those present were Mr. Ford Crandall, Mrs. Howard Mendenhall. Mrs. Frank Cranmer, Mrs. Rulon Wilkius, Mrs. Grant Crandall, Mrs. Ronald Thorpe, Mrs. Rulon Nelson Nel-son of Spanish Fork, Miss Ruth , Boyer,. Miss Anna Starr, Miss Jessie Jes-sie Packard, Miss Florence Childs. The high score prizes were won by Miss Florence Flor-ence Childs and Mrs. Ronald Thorpe. The rooms were decorated with gladioli and roses. Cards were followed by luncheon. Mrs. Nicholas Bird and two chil dren are here from Los Angeles to visit relatives. Mrs. A. O. Packard, who is leaving leav-ing soon for Magna, was pleasantly surprised Tuesday evening by sixteen six-teen members of the Alpha Beta club. They all wore funny costumes which added to the merriment of the evening. Games were played .under the direction of Mrs. II. T. j Reynolds, Jr., and luncheon was served. Miss Ora IJcken is here from Canada to visit her sister, Mrs. Howard Mendenhall. Mrs. M. W. Bird and daughter Margaret returned Thursday from a trip to El Pasoh Texas, whore they visited Miss Carrol Bird, who is fulfilling n mission there. On their way home they also visited in Hollywood, Hol-lywood, San Francisco and Reno. Blaine Selleck, who is' practising law in Oregon, Mrs. Sadie McTav-ish, McTav-ish, of Salt Lake, and Mrs. Tillie Ki'lloy Cavanaugh, of San Bernardino, Bernar-dino, Calif., were in Springville Sunday. Sun-day. They spout the afternoon at Kelleys Grove and later were the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Miner. Bishop and Mrs. Hilton Robertson Robert-son had as their guests Saturday and Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Glover of Brigham City, who were their missionary friends in Japan. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Reynolds had as their guests over the week-end Mr. and Mrs. J. Arthur Johnson, of Manti. Mr. and Mrs, W. A. McKenzie nnd Miss Electa McKenzie visited in Salt Lake from Friday until Sunday Sun-day with Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Lawrence. Lawr-ence. The Aaron Johnson Camp No. 2 ' Daughters of the Pioneers, met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Mary L. Wheeler. There wore thirty-throe members present. The program, though not long was exceedingly interesting. Mrs. Eliza Thorn gave an account of her trip to Independence Rock while she was in Wyoming this summer and Miss Fannie Rowland told of her I rip to Zion Park, Bryce canyon and Cedar Breaks. Refreshing:; !h were served, the hostess' being assisted as-sisted hy Mrs. Myrtle Harrison and Mrs. Solon Wood. Mrs. A. G. Johnson left Sunday to visit her brother. Dr. Ituel Packard, Pack-ard, in Ashton, Idaho. Before returning re-turning home, Mrs. Johnson, accompanied ac-companied by Dr. and Mrs. Packard will go through Yellowstone park. Mrs. Eliza Thorn, Richard Thorn and Josephine Sanford motored to Bingham Saturday, taking with them Mrs. William Erdmanu and children, who had visited here for a week. They went on to Salt Lake to visit Dr. nnd Mrs. Mark Bring-j Bring-j hurst before returning home. I Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Groesheck and daughter, Marian, spent Sunday in American Fork with Mr. G rocs-beck's rocs-beck's sister, Mrs. P. M. Kelley. Mrs. Jean Oakes and son, Roynl, and Mi.ss;Jrene Mendenhall spent last week in Logan. Mr. Newt Thorn nnd daughter, Marie, and son, Hall, Were the 'guests of Mr. nnd Mrs. Dell Thorn Sunday.
