Show LARGE GROUP OF FOOTBALL MEN HARDAT WORK Thirty-five football men are reporting re-porting daily for practice on the Springville high campus, according to Coach Ike Young. Among these boys a lot of promising new material mater-ial is showing up, and Coach Young already has eight letter men around which to build his team. The letter men who have reported are Captain Alden (Sam) Clark. Clair Gudmundson, Roah Johnson, Garnie Johuson, Raymond Parker, Fred Hoffman, Harold Holley and Almon Harmer. Tbe new men who will aid the old veterans are Reid Ferguson, showing up well on end ; Vernon Coudie, Coudie Crandall and George Young are developing into good tackles. The guard position will be strengthened hy Raphel Palfreyman, and Howard Bird. Eldon Ashcra'ft and Charles Straw look good nt end. In the hack field Bill Pax man. Clyde Wheeler, Grant Thorn, Vadal Childs and Ira Allen are a group of Sophomores with speed and natural nat-ural football ability. Other men who are working hard are Vernon Barrett, Bert Gledhill, Wendell Nielson. It will be hard for the new material mater-ial to replace such old stars as Bus Jensen, .Myron Childs, Alden Childs, Wendell Mendenhall, Howard How-ard Maycock and Elwood Jones, but with three more weeks the Coach hopes to have a team ready to compete com-pete with the best of them. |
