Show THIKI) WARD RELIEF SOCIETY ENTERTAIN The ladies of the Third ward Relict Re-lict Society gave a party for their out going and in-comiug officers at the Rolief Society ball Tuesday iifternoon. The retiring officers were Mrs. John S. Hill, president; Mrs. D. W. Coffman aud Mrs. Alex Sutherland, first aud second counselors, coun-selors, respectively. The new officers offi-cers are Mrs. Ernest Lee, president ; Mrs. Joseph E. Harker, first counselor; coun-selor; and Mrs. G. W. Friel, secoud counselor. A program and luncheon were' features of the afternoon. The congregation con-gregation sang, "Improve the Shining Shin-ing Moments." which was followed by Mrs. George L. McKenzie. The cimgregation then sang, "Do What Is Right." The address of welcome was given by Airs. Ernest Lee. after which Mrs. Fred Miller and Mrs. T. II. Latimer sang a duet. The tribute to the retiring president was given by Mrs. Wayne Johnson. Miss Tcis llines furnished insl ruinenlal ii'ii-ac and Mrs. Hilton Robertson gave humorous readings. There was a solo dauce by Gloria Friel and a vocal solo by Mrs. Karl Silinsioli. Mrs. G. W. Friel gave a talk to the ii tiring officers and presented each with a lovely pink sateen (pilll. The iptills were made by the Third ward Kelief Society ladies. Each retiring retir-ing officer responded lo the speech of presentation. The stake president. presi-dent. Mrs. Lovell Mendenhall gave " short talk and the congregation sting "Guide I s. Oh Thou Great leliovah." Mrs. Annie Kindred pi'Miouuced the benediction. Refreshments were served lo one hundred and twenty-five. While luncheon was being served, Kuel linn-is gave two readings. Toss llines played the piano and Elmo ('offnian sang a solo. Mr. Frank Menerny. or Sail Lake spent Sunday here. He was accompanied ac-companied home by Mr. and Mrs. W. II. Menerny. who will remain in S"U Lake for two weeks. |
