Show JOHN H. CARTER DIES SUDDENLY IN MONTANA John II. Carter, prominent Provo contractor and builder, died suddenly sud-denly this morning at Chinook. .Montana, following a stroke suffered suffer-ed Wednesday. Mr. Carter went to Montana last Saturday to assist his son in tiie construction of a sugar factory. He was thought to be in his normal health when he left Provo. He was born at Birkenhead. Ches-tershire, Ches-tershire, England. September 21, 1N51, and came to Utah when a young man. The family settled in Springville, where he lived until !.(), when he moved to . Provo. ! When a young man he worked on the St. George Temple. He was a devout Latterday Saint, and at the time of his death he was a member of the High Priests' quorum of the Utah stake. Surviving are bis widow. Mrs. Louisa D. Carter, and the following sons and daughters: J. S. Carter Mrs. I). D. Sutton, Mrs. A' D Stubbs, Mrs Eva Francom, all of Provo; Mrs. Grant Batesom of Logan, and Jesse II. Carter of Santa Monica. Calif. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his brother Fred of Springville about two weeks ago. The body is expected to arrive in Provo Sunday morning, and will be taken in charge by the Berg Mortuary. Mor-tuary. Funeral services will be held in the Provo First' ward chapel Monday afternoon' at 2 o'clock. Friends may view the body at the family residence, 328 East Third South street, from 12 to 2 o'clock on the day of the funeral. Interment will be in the Provo city cemetery. |
