Show GIRL ACCUSES THEATER MAN Alexander Pantages Charged With Assaulting 17-Vcar-Old Dancer. T,GS ANGELES. Aus. lO.-H'.P) -The district attorney's office to-f'ay to-f'ay issued a complaint charging Alexander Pantnfzes, theater ri9?-nate. ri9?-nate. with statutory offenses i&pUnst 17-year-old Eunice Pringle, dar.cer. The complaint contained accusations accusa-tions of statutory rape and rape by force and violence. The complaint was issued after District Attorney Burcn Fitts interrogated in-terrogated the girl in his office this morning and after he received medical reports on her condition. The alleged attack on Miss Pringle took place in Pantages' private office yesterday afternoon, after-noon, according to the charges. $25,000 Bond Pantages was arraigned before Municipal Judge Charles Ballard. His preliminary hearing was set for Wednesday and he was released re-leased on $25,000 bonds. A report made by Dr. Hannah Realty, physician at juvenile hall, said that the girl had been bitten on the shoulder, arms and other portions of the body. There also were numerous bruises and abrasions, acc07'ding to the report. re-port. Miss Pringle, formerly a co-ed at the University of Southern California, Cali-fornia, was questioned by Fitts for .several hours. She said Pantages attacked her forcibly and that she received the bruises in attempting to repulse him. . Once there the theater man began be-gan making personal remarks and advances, Miss Pringle claimed. Then he grabbed her in his arms. "I tried to scream." she told reporters, re-porters, "but he placed his hand over my mouth." She fainted then and when she regained consciousness there were a number of people in the room she said.
