Show DISTRICT COURT TO OPEN JAN. 6 WITH 3KASES Judge George P. Parker to Hold Sessions in Knight Building. M. B. POPE IS NEW DISTRICT ATTORNEY Long List of Civil and Criminal Crim-inal Cases Up for Judgment. Judg-ment. The January term of the district court of the Fourth judicial district opens in Provo January It with Judge Elias Hansen and Judge George P. Parker presiding. Judge Parker, elected last November No-vember in connection with Judge Hansen in order to keep the increasing in-creasing work in this district up to date, will hold court in the assembly assem-bly room of the Knight building which is being thoroughly renovated and the necessary alterations made to accomodate the witnesses and jury. The room formerly occupied by A. A. Anderson, Timpanogas scout, executive will serve as the judge's chamber. Thirty-throe cases have been set on the calendar for the coming term. Judge Hansen hearing most of the civil cases and Judge Parker the criminal cases. Deputy Sheriff Frank Uoper will act as bailiff and will take sufficient suffic-ient notes on the cases jn- ; Judge Parker's court for the county clerk to keep an adequate record 'of tlu' cjiscs. .Co-operation between, the judges, secretaries , clerks and bailiff will eliminate the necessity .of employing an extra deputy to handle the work, it was said. 1 Judge Parker has secured the services of Clarence Cramer of the reporting firm of Davis and Cramer in Salt Lake, to act as court stenographer. stenog-rapher. Mr. Cramer was formerly reporter for Judge Armstrong and comes highly recommended. He is moving his- family to Provo. Adelbert Diglor, secretary to Judge Hansen is leaving for Salt Lake and,' will join Mr. Davis In place of Mr. Cramer. James Keeler of Salt Lake will do the reporting re-porting for Judge Hansen. Criminal cases coming up before the court are as follows: State of Utah vs. Lawrence Twede; Austin Hisoll et al ; Thomas Lassen and John Musta. Provo City vs. Andrew An-drew Allen find American Fork City vs. Francis Wells et al. M. II. Pope, who was elected district dis-trict attorney last November, will handle the cases for the state.
