Show SUGAR BOWL; WHOFILLS IT? "Who fills your sugar bowl?" The answer to that question will be given by Charles H. Allen, presi-dent presi-dent of the Farmers Sugar company at Defiance, Ohio, in the near future at a tri-city meeting of the civic clubs of Provo, Springville and Spanish Fork. Arrangements ore now under way by the Provo Kiwanis club to have the Kiwanis clubs of Springville and Spanish Fork and perhaps the notary no-tary clubs of Provo and Spanish Ferk co-operate in bringing Mr. Allen here. The lecture will be given some time during August at a joint lunch eon and meeting of the clubs, tht exact date to be set by Mr. Allen. To Utah county, the mother of thi beet sucnr industry in the west, thi lectnre of Mr. Allen should be espec-, ially interesting, the officers of the Kiwanis club point out. The lecturer has studied the beet sugar industry years nnd answers such questions ques-tions as "Who grows the sugar on your table today?" "How can the high cost of living be reduced?" "How can the productive soil of the United States be doubled and trebled without addition of a single acre?" "Whv did the United States Pay Cuba .$000,000,000 in one year for nothing but wind and water?" According to advance information concerning the lecturer, Mr. Allen nt only knows the answer to these questions, but he knows how to tell the answers in the form of on ad-dress ad-dress that not only entertains but is said to literally grip an audience. |
