Show AUTO DRIVER HELD IN JAIL FOR ACCIDENT Willis Shipley of American Fork Awaiting Hearing for Failure to Report. Willis Shipley, of American Fork, 'V"! is alleged to have driven t lie automobile Sunday night which injured in-jured Clara r.laehurst and George Hall just so n 111 of Pleasant Grove, is in tho county jail awaiting hearing hear-ing in the city court. The hearing will he held Friday. Shipley is charged with failure lo slop after an nulomobile accident and wilh failure to report an automobile auto-mobile accident to the police authorities author-ities as required hy law. lie was arrested by Deputy Sheriff Sher-iff George Davis who investigated the accident and who first learned of the identity of the driver of the accident car. According to Deputy Davis, Shipley Ship-ley fails to realize the seriousness of Ibe charge against him and is said lo have told the officer that the accident didn't hurt his conscience. The accident happened Sunday evening, who Shipley nnd another auto driver are said to have been racing on the stale highway. The Shipley car is alleged tn have struck Miss Hlnekhurs! and Mr. Ball who were walking off the highway. They were left unconscious by the side of the road. The girl sustained n broken leg in two places while the young man was injured about the legs. |
