Show BOY NARROWLY ESCAPESDEATH Lenay Ostler, 11, Loses Three Fingers Under Wheels Of Orem Train SPANISH FORK. Narrowly escaping es-caping fatal injuries, Lenay Ostler, 11-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. : Samuel Ostler of this city, was pain- j fully injured when he was knocked off his bicycle by the southbound Orem train arriving hCre at 6:10, I Monday evening. The accident oc- j curred at the intersection of Main and Seventh North street. Lenay fell from his bicycle in such a way that the1 wheels of the , train cut off three fingers from his right hand. He also injured his knee and sustained a deep gash in his forehead. The motorman of the train car-; ried the injured boy to the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Dahle where he was given attention by Dr. J. W. Hagen, after which he was removed to his home. The train was moving slowly at the time of the accident, according to boys who were on the scene at the time. Lenay is said to have seen the train but thought he could get across the track on the bicycle before it would strike him. |
