E. E. Knudson, principal of the high school will give a resume of the plans for the new mechanic arts building to be erected before next fall. E. L. Faux will give a brief talk about music and the junior high school band will furnish music for the' occasion. R ?n n i on , personnel per-sonnel director of Utah Power and Light company, at an intercity meeting of Springville and Provo Kiwanis clubs Thursday night. MendenhaU Presides The meeting was held in the Springville Third ward Relief society so-ciety hall with a large percentage of the membership of both clubs in a.endance. Seymour L. Mendenhall Sr., of the Springville club, was master of ceremonies and Dr. Madison Madi-son W. Merrill of Provo was toast-master. toast-master. Vocal selections were furnished by Mrs. James A. Bullock and Bob Robinson of Provo. They were accompanied ac-companied on the piano by Belle Crandall cf Springville. The visiting clubmen were presented pre-sented with favors in the form of a large carnation. In keeping with a custom of the Springville club, toasts were given in honor of H. T. Reynolds, Sr., and Grant Crandall, whose birthday birth-day anniversaries had occurred since the last meeting of the club. Bishop Ralph Smart paid tribute to Mr. Reynolds as a pioneer builder build-er of this state, while M. R. Straw gave humorous sentiments directed at Mr. Crandall. Following Dr. Bennion's address, Dr. George H. Brimhall gave a brief sentiment. Ilunmn Klcmcnt of Business Dr. Bennion touched on the human hu-man elements involved in business, and made some interesting interest-ing comparisons of the past with the present. He declared that there is a vast difference bet-en the relationship re-lationship of employer a; 1 employe now as compared with a few years ago. He pointed out that business today has come to realize that the bigger ' the man the bigger the business, until business now realizes real-izes that its greatest responsibility is in the development of its employes, em-ployes, and in placing the right man in the right job. Thrift was stressed by the speak-pr speak-pr as essential to success. In conclusion con-clusion he commended to his listeners listen-ers the principles of Jesus Christ I as good business ethics, and declared declar-ed that business is beginning to realize that the golden rule i3 as Important today as it was when it was first uttered. |
