Show I Mapleton News The Daughters of the Pioneers of Mapleton met at the home of Mrs. Claudia Whitney Thursday afternoon. after-noon. After prayer by Mrs. Vina Bird, the history of Utah was reviewed re-viewed by Liby Curtis; piano solo, Ruby Jensen ; sketch of the life of Elizabeth P. Whitings, born in Kirtland to the founding of Mantl and her death at Springville, was given by Louisa Johnson; solo, Hannah Han-nah Clyde. An original poem written writ-ten by Mary Klenka Whiting of Monroe was read by Bessie Whitney. Guitar and piano selection was played by Lily Olegg Snow and Claudia Johnson Whitney. Refreshments Re-freshments were served. Mrs. Myra Murry and sons spent a day last week at the Strawberry lake. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Johnson and family spent a few days at Strawberry Straw-berry last week. Stake officers and teachers of the Kolob stake Relief Sieiety held n gathering by more gathering at the Mapleton chapel Tuesday afternoon, which was attended at-tended by more than 00 people. The program was as follows: Address of welcome, Mrs. M. E. Crandull, Jr., vocal duet, Mrs. Selvoy J. Boyer and Mrs. J. M. Pierce; rending by Mrs. Hilton A. Robertson; piano solo, Miss Annie Starr; short talks by President G. R. Maycoek and E. M. Snow of the Kolob stake presidency ; vocal duet by Mrs.. Kenneth Condie and Mrs. Hilton A. Robertson, Games were played on the lawn and refreshments served. |
