Show DUP camp holds summer party Camp Mountain View DUP spent a delightful afternoon on Thursday at a summer party and lunch at the Fourth-Tenth Ward Church. A pot luck dinner din-ner and visiting took up the time and those in attendance signed a get-well card to send to Mrs. Lydia Palfreyman, a member, who is staying with her daughter, Mrs. lone P. Ol-sen Ol-sen at Fort Collins, Colo. In attendance were Kather-ine Kather-ine Russell, Leonia Cameron, Afton Palfreyman, Emily Anderson, An-derson, Nettie Thorn, Emma Jacobsen, Dorothy Wheeler, Hattie Williams, Lela Sumsion, Teresa Loback, Jean Ashby, Cornelia Allan, Maraby Beardall. Bear-dall. Mr. and Mrs. Irving Shaffer and son of New York City, N. Y., were overnight guests this week at the home of Mrs. May Child, enroute to their home from a trip to California. Mrs Child and her late husband befriended be-friended Mr. Shaffer when he was a home-sick youth serving serv-ing with the CCC camp in Hobble Creek canyon. He nev-ver nev-ver forgot their kindness and for the past 30 years had sent a Christmas card. It was the first time he had been back to Springville since CCC camp days. |
