| Show obituary thomas gammon an old resident of provo and 2nd ward died peacefully after a lingering illness wednesday at 20 minutes to 2 0 m jan 27 1897 deceased waa born juno 27 1820 in brampton devonshire englard he was raised a farmer married elazabeth Elf zabeth day oct 27 1810 and moved to neath in wales shortly after he and his wife joined the church of jesus christ of latter day saints in 1848 and two years later commenced their journey across the great ddean for utah it took eight weeks and four days to cross aba atlantic chev reached council iowa in may esuo where they remained one year after wards bovio to newark missouri whore they libed two years before crossing plains with os teams 10 utah he arrived in provo sept 18 1853 since that time he has continued conti cued to reside here enduring many of the hardships of frontier life mr gammon was an honeas industrious and peaceable man a good neighbor halsband has band and father he was the eldist of four brothers and three sis Sera he leaves a wife one ton two daughters eighteen grand children two great grand children and a host of friends am his family live here except one daughter and four grand children who live in independence missouri |
