Show Cancer campaign begins today; 150 women to help with drive Today has been designated as C-Day in Springville and across the nation, to raise funds to further research on cancer, announces Mrs. Blake H. Gammell; Springville chairman. chair-man. She is being assisted by a corps of approximately 150 women including Mrs. Calvin Johnson, Mapleton, co-chairman; Mrs. Reed Johnson, business bus-iness chairman and Mrs. R. A. Oldroyd, special gifts chairman. chair-man. Starting tonight, April 19, between 5 and 9 p.m., volunteer volun-teer workers will call on neighbors neigh-bors and friends with the objective ob-jective of saving lives now as well as in the future. According to report, half of all cancer patients who contract con-tract cancer this year, may be cured if the disease were detected de-tected and treated in time. The immdiate objective of the Cancer Society is to help save these lives, an estimated 260, 000 men, women and children. In conducting the drive, volunteers vol-unteers will emphasize the slogan, "To cure more, give more," in an effort to give a light of hope to all cancer victims. ! |
