A large number of ladies en-joyed both the morning and afternoon sessions or bowling. 26 ladies were in attendance in the morning and 32 in the af-ternoon. The party was arranged by the officers of the various la-dies leagues to encourage in-terest in league bowling. Starting dates for the Springville Ladies is Aug. 30. Art City Ladies, Aug. 31 and the Early Bird Aug. 30 at 9:30 a.m. The other two leag-ues begin at 7 p.m. Any ladies interested in bowling in new leagues this year are asked to contact Merv Redden or association officers, Marie Barrett, president. The bride is the for-mer Miss Beverly Larsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Larsen of Spanish Fork and Michael's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gabbitas, Spring-ville. Following the temple cere-mony, the couple was guests at a wedding luncheon at the Blue Bird in Logan. A recep-tion was given in their honor the evening following their marriage in the Seventh ward hall in Spanish Fork. thered carnations and camel-ia- s. For the wed-ding date, the bride chose a gown of lace over taffetta and net with escalloped rhinestone-trimme- d neckline, The sleeves were long and pointed and the lace overskirt fell in points at the bottom. Her flowers were pink rose-bu- and stephano-ti- s with white satin streamers. Attending the bride were ' Lynette Turpin as maid of honor; Jenny Moosman, Shar-len- e Larsen, Sadie Davis, Su-san Moffit bridesmaids, and Patricia Larsen, flower girl. They wore pink linen and their flowers were pink feathered carnations and pink camelias. Clyde Gabbitas was best man. Mrs. Larsen chose ' a pink linen dress for the reception and Mrs. Gabbitas, blue silk. Their corsages were pink fea- - Public invited to typical Hawaiian luau Those who believe there is "nothing new under the sun" should be at the Second-Eight- h ward back lawn next Tuesday evening for a big .Hawaiian Luau (feast) and Hawaiian program, being sponsored as a budget event for the two wards. Mr. and Mrs. Max and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Johnson are They have secured Mr. and Mrs. Rau Veve Fauene of Hawaii to roast the pig or imu, in a pit prepared in typical Hawaiian fashion. Served with the roast pork will be a deli-cious menu of Hawaiian food similar to that served at the Hawaiian luaus. An invitation is given the general public to attend the events which begins at 7 p.m., on the back lawn, where spe-cial decorations will add a fes-tive note to the affair. Bryan Burt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Burt, attended the Freedom Academy at Camp Williams last week, as a group leader. He attended the Acad-emy last year, when he was high school student body pres-ident and was asked to returi to the school of instruction as a group leader. He came home Friday. Family gathers for reunion Seventy-tw- o members of the family of Mrs. May B. Bird, gathered at the City Park Saturday evening for a reun-ion. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bird were chairmen and arranged a program of games. Dinner was enjoyed early in the evening by the various families. Among those attending from out of town were : Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Bird, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Millerberg, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Buhler and fami-lies of Midvale; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Harmer of Payson, Mr. arid Mrs. Allan Davis of Provo; Dr. and Mrs. Jay Harmer of Pleasant Grove and their fami-lies. Visiting, games and picnic lunches were diversions enjoyed by 49 family members. Attending besides Mrs. Bringhurst, were: Mr. and Mrs. John F. Bringhurst, Layton; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Haws, Tooele; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Sabin, Mr. and Mrs. Paul B. Sabin, Salem; Mr. and Mrs. Paul A. Smith, Beaver and their families and the Wells, Robert, Dale and Mart Bring-hurst families of Springville.
