The ; tournament will conclude Sat-j Sat-j : urday with the championship game and the awarding of ! j trophies to the winners. Teams playing in the meet I; include Idaho Falls, Spanish Fork, Bountiful, Denver, Poca-tello, Poca-tello, Provo, Price and the host team, Springville. Players from these clubs were feted at a banquet Monday night prior to the opening of the tournament I ; Tuesday at 1 p.m. ; ! Today's games begin at 4 ! : p.m. with the last game sched-! sched-! uled for 8 o'clock. Friday i games will be played starting M at 6 p.m. It Springville won the most ! thrilling contest of the open- i J ing day when it turned back i : Price 14-13 in a high scoring ! J contest. Fans were treated to plenty of thrills as the two j teams kept the game exciting ! throughout with their errors j and runs. The seventh inning I was one which nearly lost the game for the Springville club, when, with the locals leading J by one run, Terry Frost came I to the mound replacing Reid j with all the bases loaded and : I two men away. Under this pressure, he walked the first : batter to bring in the tieing ; run for Price. With all bases still loaded, he struck out the next batter to end the game in a tie at 13-13. The climatic extra inning saw Tony Gonzales Gon-zales hit a triple to score the man ahead of him, Roger Reid, who had lived on a single to ' lead off the inning. Price was held scoreless and the game ended 14-13 for Springville. Frost was credited with the win.
