She was the former Miss Linda James of Provo. Garden reception for couple follows recent church rites The Springville Fourth-Tenth ward church was the setting for impressive wedding rites uniting Miss Linda James, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Frank Jones of Provo and Paul Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kay Johnson of this city. ' Grant Thorn, former bishop of, the Fifth ward officiated at the ceremony witnessed by family " members and close friends. A reception the same evening even-ing in the garden of the groom's grandmother Mrs. Mary Smart, complimented the couple and they left shortly after on a wedding trip to Jackson and Yellowstone Park. They are' now making a home in Ogden, where Paul, is employed. For her wedding attire, the attractive young bride chose a nylon tulle and lace over taf-fetta taf-fetta gown with fitted bodice, short sleeves and neckline edged ed-ged in scalloped lace. A deep lace V-insert trimmed the bouffant bouf-fant skirt which featured a chapel train. Her veil of illusion, illu-sion, elbow length, held a pearl tiara. She carried a bouquet of aqua carnations - centered with a white orchid and wore lace mits. nolds, Mary Whittaker, Mary Sue Johnson and Lynne Olsen. In the kitchen were Mrs. Reed R. Ekins, Mrs. Amos Mecharri, Mrs. B. M. Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Stewart. Arranging the gifts were Mrs. S. L. Eikns, Mrs. Claude Snyder and Mrs. Gordon Smith presided over the gift register. Fred Blackett of Hermosa Beach, Calif., spent a short time in Springville Friday, visiting vi-siting his mother, Mrs Hattie Williams and sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Al-ton Packard. He came to Salt Lake on business making the trip both ways by plane. Mrs. Eva Crandall came from Salt Lake City to spend a few days with relatives and friends in Springville. During the time, her daughter-in-lavy, Mrs. Janet C. Bird took her to Bryces Canyon, where they visited a son and grandson David Da-vid Crandall. , They were accompanied ac-companied also by Cyril Crandall Cran-dall and Ann Crandall. Mrs. Leland Collard, matron of honor, Camille Wilde, maid of honor and Barbara Johnson and Cathy Heal, bridesmaids, were attired in aqua sheath gowns and held baskets of white feathered carnations. Mrs. James chose an aqua silk gown for the wedding; Mrs. Johnson, a peach-colored lace and Mrs. Smart, a rose lace. Their flowers were white orchids. Best man for his brother was Roger Johnson with Russell Rus-sell Woods and Gordon Snow, ushers. Ralph and Phyllis Olsen Ol-sen greeted guests at the door and Ronald and Lillian Thorpe were acting host and hostess. A flower decked archway and green fern baskets formed a background for the bridal party. par-ty. Old fashioned lanterns lighted the walkway to the garden which was beautiful with summer blooms and colored col-ored lights.
