At the present time the Utah Pipemill produces a complete line of water pipe in sizes ranging from four inches to 12 inches in diameter. Facilities for dipping and wrapping water pipes have been in operation at the plant for several years. Another pro-duction line at the plant pro-duces large diameter water pipe and gas transmission line pipe in sizes ranging from 20 to 40 inches in diameter. New building going up near Utah pipe mill A research pilot plant for the study of inside and outside water pipe coating will be erected at the Utah Pipemill of U. S. Steel's Consolidated Western Steel Division, it was announced today by Charles W. Lee, Division president. The addition at the big pipe manufacturing plant will be housed in a steel frame build-ing 60 ft. x 50 ft. Construc-tion will start immediately, Mr. Dee said, and should be completed by November. Mrs. Marjorie Torzillo and daughter who have been visit-ing in Springville with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Clark for a few weeks from Huntsville, Ala., returned home with her husband Jack, who came to Utah for them recent-ly. They were also accompan-ied home by their son John-nie, who has spent the past year here with his grandpar-ents. During their stay, they were guests at a family din-ner at the Homestead given by Mr. and Mrs. Clark with an-other daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Don Perry as guests, and they also enjoyed dinner at the Pancake House in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ewing also entertained in their honor with other guests including their family, Mr. and Mrs. Piatt Watts and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Ewing and children, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Sanford and four children of LaPuente. Calif., are visiting in Spring-ville with his parents, Mr. and Mrst Frank Sanford and other relatives and friends. In company with friends, Sheren and Kathleen Beardall, daughters pf Mr. and Mrs. Ross Beardall, recently took a vacation trip to Idaho, Oregon and Washington visiting rela-tives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Ted O. Thorn and two children Joan and Larry have returned to their home in Yonkers, N.Y. follow-ing a visit here with Ted's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orland Thorn and other relatives and friends. They came especially to see Mr. Thorn who is in ill health. During their stay, they were entertained at family and other par-ties among which were those given by Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Bird and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Thorn. They left Tues-day and expected to travel over the northern route visit-ing Yellowstone Park, Canada and Niagara Falls, enroute. It has been ten years since the family had visited here togeth-er. Ted was here about five years ago. He is engaged in radio and TV work in the east-ern state.
