Show Council studies milk sale; names heads Several items , of business were taken up by the City Council at their regular meeting meet-ing Monday evening, at which all councilmen in addition to the Mayor, City Attorney and City Recorder, were present. Bruce Ashton, Delia Clark, and Mr. Callahan representing the County Safety Council made recommendations for organizing or-ganizing a City Safety Council Coun-cil and left literature. Mayor Bird recommended that Hal Clyde, Henry Weight, Ashley Graham, Paul Walker, a student stu-dent from the Junior Class; also Grace Alleman, Joyce (Continued on Page 2, Col. 3) Council studies sale of raw milk (Continued from Page One) Morgan, and Wendell Nielson be appointed Safety Council members. It was moved by CI. Clyde and seconded by CI. Crandall the names as recommended recom-mended by the Mayor be approved. Lester Davis and George Fergus were present regarding building a Launderette at 300 East 4th South St. It was pointed out the location was in a Residential District and would have to be rezoned commercial com-mercial to locate business at that address. He was advised that property owners' in the area must be favorable to re-zoning re-zoning the block for commercial commer-cial purposes. After a discussion on the selling of raw milk and the advisability of amending the milk ordinance to allow the selling of raw milk, a motion mo-tion was made by CI. Clyde and seconded by CI. Crandall that two Councltmen be appointed ap-pointed to make a further study of it and report to the next Council meeting. CI. Memory reported that Edwin Burbank had been selected se-lected to be caretaker at Kelly's Kel-ly's Grove. The Council approved approv-ed the action of the committee. commit-tee. A petition for curb and gutter gut-ter by property owners at 13th East between Center Street 150 North was presented. The Council felt that; other areas should be considered and the property owners informed of the possibility of forming an Improvement District to improve im-prove their property and to be paid for in ten years. |
